I had the oddest dream last night.
I was in the middle of my ocean, drowning. The water was so cold and silvery opaque, like mercury. And it covered and coated me over like milk. But then, it began to take me over, and I began to dissolve and flake into the water. And then, I was just gone. I was the water, every bit of it, the splashing droppies on the shores.
I woke up very disturbed.
Downstairs there was a familiar creature on the table.
"Good morning," said the snail. "Did you sleep well?"
This is how I made the second acquaintance of my snail. I was so happy to see him again, since I had not forgotten his promise. It is very impolite and poor of character to forget promises. I'm sure you know of a few who engage in this habit.
I assured him that he would be with me forever and would have quarters to sleep in better than he had once had.
So I made him a small house out of a cardboard box, and a carpet so he wouldn't soil it. He has a door so he can leave it whenever he wants to. Life for him, will be wonderful. And it won't be so lonely in here anymore.
